So, it turns out our last full day in the Berner Oberland has been a bit of a bust. With the clouds hanging Even lower than yesterday, there didn't seem to be much point of going up into the mountains, like we had planned. Instead we spent a lazy day exploring Interlaken, a mecca of Swiss kitsch on sale. Every other store Is selling Swiss watches or Swiss army knives and the stores that aren't are selling outdoors gear for an active life in the mountains.
And then there was the chocolate ...
Of course, a morning spent wandering through town wouldn't be complete without a stop for coffee ...
... Or a visit to the playground.
Meanwhile the 'balloons', I mean paragliders, were landing in the park's large field.
Aside from a near-miss lunch at a tourist trap of a restaurant (one look at the pictures on the menus they handed us and we decided not to stay) the rest of our day was pretty uneventful, just naps, playtime, dinner and bed.
We're feeling a little disappointed that the weather hasn't cooperated with our visit to the mountains. Hopefully tomorrow we'll get to enjoy our view one last time before we leave.
