With Elizabeth, Paul and Cooper leaving tomorrow, today was the day to get family pictures. Sue and Craig were our official photographers for our first impromptu photo shoot immediately after breakfast. With a little rearranging of the furniture and a little silliness by the pool, we quickly took the photos, said goodbye to Sue and Craig then headed off to the beach.
Today was Noah and Cooper's best day at the beach. Elizabeth, Christina and Doug took the little kids (David being the big kid in the bunch) to Mead's Bay where the water was quite calm and clear. Catherine fell asleep on our way there and then graciously gave her mother a break by staying asleep for almost an hour on a beach chair. Cooper then gave his mother a break by napping for an hour on his beach chair. Noah found his courage and discovered how much fun playing in the ocean can be.
After lunch, we headed home and Catherine fell asleep again ... giving Christina and Doug time to hop in the pool with Noah, Elizabeth and Cooper for more water fun before naps.
After nap time, Candace, Carolyn and David had returned from Savannah Beach (where Candace kite surfed again) and it was back to the pool for more swimming, splashing and general silliness.
After their swim, the kids took a bath together to wash off the salt water, sand and sunscreen and get ready for their second photo shoot of the day.
David had 'team' shirts made for everyone to wear on the trip and we thought this evening's family photo would be a good opportunity to show them off. We took big family photos of everyone together and then David took some individual family photos for everyone. Catherine was in no mood to sit for yet another picture, so we decided to wait and take a Wentzell family photo in the morning.
